Liverpool has reportedly put forth a £41 million offer for a Real Madrid player following their disappointing draw against Manchester United.

Following their draw with Manchester United, Liverpool is said to have placed a £41 million bid for a prominent player from Real Madrid.

On Sunday afternoon, Liverpool’s aspirations for the Premier League title took a hit as they delivered what many consider their poorest performance of the season against their rivals.

In front of a disheartened Anfield crowd, Liverpool struggled to find their rhythm, with goals from Lisandro Martinez and Amad Diallo securing a well-earned 2-2 draw for United.

The hosts managed to find the net through Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah.

In light of this setback, it has emerged that Liverpool has made a bid for Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni.

According to Spanish news outlet Fichajes, the Reds have submitted an offer of £41 million for the 24-year-old.

Tchouameni had previously been linked with a move to Liverpool but opted for a transfer to Madrid instead. Besides Liverpool, he has also attracted interest from Manchester United, Manchester City, and Chelsea.

This season, Tchouameni has made 21 appearances for Los Blancos across all competitions, and his transfer value is estimated at €80 million, according to Transfermarkt.

After the draw against United, Slot commented, “Of course, it feels for us as two points dropped. I think many people will remember the end, especially the big chance for [Harry] Maguire.

However, we must not forget that just two minutes earlier, Virgil [van Dijk] had a significant opportunity to make it 3-2 for us.

Ultimately, it was a challenging match, somewhat reminiscent of the Nottingham Forest game, where both teams exhibited similar playing styles.”

He mentioned that they employed a low defensive block with numerous players, and when they had possession, they opted for long passes rather than taking risks with build-up play.

Whenever they earned a free-kick in their own half or near ours, they would deliver it into the box, which resembled the approach used by Forest.

Liverpool is set to return to the pitch on Wednesday evening to face Tottenham Hotspur in the semi-final of the Carabao Cup.
