LIVERPOOL 3-1 LEICESTER: The Reds staged a comeback to secure another victory at Anfield.

Liverpool now holds a seven-point lead at the top of the Premier League following their comeback win against Leicester City at Anfield. After falling behind to Jordan Ayew’s early goal, the Reds responded with two goals around half-time, capped off by Mo Salah’s late strike.

Cody Gakpo delivered a brilliant equalizer just before half-time, and shortly after the break, Curtis Jones scored from Salah’s assist. Salah then concluded the match with a signature low shot.

Liverpool player ratings:

Alisson 5

Conceded to Ayew’s low shot early on but was largely untroubled for the remainder of the match.

Trent Alexander-Arnold 8

Displayed exceptional passing and crossing, particularly in the first half. His ongoing contract negotiations add a layer of tension in the coming weeks.

Joe Gomez 6

Looked somewhat uneasy during Leicester’s counter-attacks but avoided any major mistakes.

Virgil van Dijk 6

Made a crucial interception in the first half after inadvertently contributing to Ayew’s goal. Was fortunate that Patson Daka missed a chance in the second half due to a lack of tight marking.

Andy Robertson 5

Had a few bright moments, including hitting the post, but was easily outmuscled by Ayew for the goal. Continues to face defensive challenges.

Alexis Mac Allister 7

Started inconsistently, showing intensity but misplacing some passes. Gradually found his rhythm and connected well with the forwards.

Ryan Gravenberch 7

Delivered another solid performance as a midfielder. Leicester’s defensive setup allowed him to advance the ball effectively.

Curtis Jones 9

Put in an energetic performance, highlighted by his winning goal. Came close to scoring on two other occasions and is becoming a vital player for the team.

Mohamed Salah 8

What more can be said? Although it didn’t seem like his best night at times, he produced two remarkable efforts—one hitting the bar and the other finding the net.

Cody Gakpo 8

Arne Slot provided an opportunity, and he seized it. He executed a superb finish for his goal and assisted Salah for the decisive strike.

Darwin Nunez 4

He put in considerable effort once again, but his struggles in front of goal continue. He headed the ball well off target early in the match and later sent another chance soaring over the bar.

Subs

Diogo Jota (for Nunez, 78) 7 He was active upon his introduction and presented a different attacking option.

Dominik Szoboszlai (for Jones, 77) 5 He entered the match, received an unnecessary yellow card, and is now suspended for the upcoming West Ham fixture. It was not an impressive appearance.
