Liverpool Injury Update and Potential Return Dates for Conor Bradley, Ibrahima Konate and Andy Robertson suspension update…
Liverpool Injury Update and Possible Return Timelines for Conor Bradley, Ibrahima Konate, and Andy Robertson’s Suspension Status.
Liverpool has recently seen some relief from injury woes with the returns of Alisson, Diogo Jota, and Federico Chiesa. Nevertheless, several players remain unavailable during this hectic season.
In the last week, Liverpool’s injury landscape has brightened, with Alisson, Diogo Jota, and Federico Chiesa rejoining Arne Slot’s lineup.
Alisson returned in the Champions League clash against Girona, while Jota made a significant impact off the bench, helping secure a draw against Fulham on Saturday.
Despite these encouraging developments, a few players are still in recovery. Here’s the latest on their injuries and suspension updates.
Ibrahima Konate
Konate sustained a knee injury during stoppage time in Liverpool’s victory over Real Madrid at the end of November, following a collision with Endrick and Virgil van Dijk.
Initially, it was estimated that the French defender would be out for five to six weeks, missing all of Liverpool’s fixtures during a busy December.
What Slot has stated: “They will both (Konate and Conor Bradley) be out for a few weeks.
I have mentioned before that it’s always challenging to determine the exact duration, as initial assessments can differ from the later stages of the recovery process.” – statement from December 1.
Expected return date: January 2025
Conor Bradley
Bradley also suffered an injury during the match against Madrid, as his impressive performance was cut short by a hamstring issue in the second half.
The Belfast Telegraph reported shortly after the game that the Northern Ireland international is anticipated to be sidelined for approximately six weeks.
Slot has indicated that both Bradley and Ibrahima Konate will be sidelined for several weeks. He emphasized the challenge in accurately predicting the duration of their absence, noting that initial assessments can differ from the actual recovery timeline as the injury progresses. This statement was made on December 1.
Projected return date: January 2025
Kostas Tsimikas
Tsimikas has not participated in any matches for Liverpool since early November due to an ankle injury. However, he resumed training last week and may be poised for a return shortly.
Potential return date: December 18 against Southampton or December 22 against Tottenham
Andy Robertson
With Tsimikas injured, Robertson has played in all of Liverpool’s last seven matches across various competitions.
Unfortunately, he will be unavailable for the next match due to a red card received against Fulham.
He will serve his suspension during the Carabao Cup fixture against Southampton but will be eligible for the upcoming match against Spurs.
Expected return date: December 22 against Tottenham
Alexis Mac Allister
Mac Allister has been absent from consecutive matches due to suspensions, first missing the Champions League game against Girona and then the Premier League match against Fulham.
His last appearance was during the 3-3 draw with Newcastle on November 4. He is expected to return well-rested, likely for the match against Southampton this week.
Expected return date: December 18 against Southampton
