Liverpool is poised to activate the £37.3 million release clause for River Plate’s Franco Mastantuono, a player also targeted by Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.

Liverpool plans to trigger the £37.3 million release clause for a transfer target that has attracted interest from Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.

In October, it was reported that PSG had earmarked Mastantuono as their primary transfer target, intending to trigger his €40 million release clause.

However, this amount could rise to €45 million in the last ten days of the transfer window.

While PSG shows strong interest, Diario AS journalist Eduardo Burgos noted that Manchester United is also closely monitoring the young Argentine talent.

Additionally, several prominent European clubs, including Barcelona, Manchester City, Arsenal, and Chelsea, are keeping an eye on Mastantuono.

ESPN Argentina indicated that Manchester United is particularly eager to secure the teenager and is preparing a bid for the January transfer window.

As reported by Defensa Central, Liverpool is set to trigger Mastantuono’s £37.3 million release clause at River Plate to outmaneuver Real Madrid in the race for his signature.

Recently, Mundo Deportivo mentioned that a Barcelona scout was present at the Estadio Monumental in Buenos Aires to observe Mastantuono during River Plate’s Copa Libertadores semifinal match against Atletico Mineiro on October 29.

In the current 2024 season, Mastantuono has made 41 appearances for River Plate across all competitions, netting four goals and providing three assists.
