Liverpool plans to launch a £67 million bid for a La Liga star, as they are confident he would be an excellent fit for their team dynamics.

The Reds are preparing to submit a £67 million offer for a star from La Liga, as they feel he would seamlessly integrate into their team.

Liverpool is reportedly set to make a significant £67 million bid for Athletic Bilbao midfielder Oihan Sancet, according to Spanish source Fichajes.

Having progressed through the youth ranks at the Basque club, the 24-year-old has become an integral part of the first team.

His contributions were vital in helping Athletic Bilbao secure a fifth-place finish in La Liga last season, which earned them a spot in the Europa League.

This season, Sancet has continued to impress, netting seven goals in just ten league appearances.

He played a crucial role in his team’s recent successes, scoring the decisive goal against local rivals Real Sociedad last month and adding two more in a victory over Rayo Vallecano last weekend.

Fichajes reports that Liverpool has taken notice of Sancet’s talents and is prepared to present a £67 million offer to bring him to Anfield next year.

The club believes that the 24-year-old would be an ideal addition to enhance their midfield options.

While Athletic Bilbao is reluctant to part with their star player, who is under contract until 2032, they may consider a transfer if Liverpool submits a substantial offer.

Sancet typically operates in an attacking midfield role under coach Ernesto Valverde but is also adept at playing box-to-box.

Standing at 6 feet 2 inches, he is known for his dynamism, strength, aerial ability, long-range passing, and work rate off the ball.

Currently, Liverpool has Dominik Szoboszlai and Curtis Jones available for the number ten position, but Szoboszlai has struggled to make a significant impact this season, contributing only two goals in 13 league matches.

Consequently, agreeing to an upgrade would be a prudent choice, and acquiring Sancet could prove to be a valuable addition if they proceed with the purchase. It will be intriguing to observe whether the Merseyside club ultimately takes a definitive step to secure the Bilbao star in the upcoming year.

In the meantime, after a 2-0 win against Manchester City last weekend, Liverpool has increased their lead at the top of the Premier League, now holding a nine-point advantage over Arsenal, who are in second place.
