Five players may be unavailable for the Inter Milan versus Arsenal match as the Gunners gear up for an important Champions League encounter.

As Arsenal prepares for a vital Champions League battle, there are concerns that five players could be sidelined for the match against Inter Milan.

Arsenal is set to face Inter Milan in the Champions League on Wednesday evening at the iconic San Siro.

Both teams have secured seven points from their initial three matches in the tournament, with Arsenal managing a goalless draw against Atalanta, followed by consecutive home victories over Paris Saint-Germain and FC Shakhtar Donetsk.

Inter Milan commenced their campaign with a commendable 0-0 draw against Manchester City, followed by a dominant 4-0 win at home against Red Star Belgrade and a narrow 1-0 triumph away against Young Boys.

Alongside Arsenal, they are among seven teams that have accumulated seven points so far, while Liverpool and Aston Villa stand out with nine points and a perfect record.

Arsenal faced a setback on Saturday, losing 1-0 to Newcastle United, where Alexander Isak netted the decisive goal with a well-placed header from Anthony Gordon’s cross.

In contrast, Inter Milan closed the gap on Serie A leaders Napoli with a victory over 18th-placed Venezia, thanks to a second-half goal from Lautaro Martinez.

Heading into the match, Arsenal is dealing with more injury issues compared to Inter, who welcomed back Hakan Çalhanoğlu from injury on Sunday, as he played the final 20 minutes after missing the previous two Serie A matches due to an abductor injury.

Injury update for Arsenal:

Key midfielder Martin Odegaard is making progress in his recovery but may not be ready in time for the match against Inter.

He has been sidelined since sustaining an ankle injury during international duty in September, although some reports suggest he could potentially make an appearance on Wednesday.

Ahead of their journey to Newcastle, Arteta commented on the midfielder on Friday: “This is the phase where he will begin to engage in specific activities with us.

We will assess how he manages any discomfort, whether he is moving fluidly, and if he meets the physical standards necessary for competition.

Given his work ethic and the time he has dedicated, I would be surprised if, once he starts training with us, we don’t conclude that he is ready, so we hope it will be soon.”

Takehiro Tomiyasu (knee), Kieran Tierney (hamstring), and Riccardo Calafiori (knee) are all expected to remain unavailable.

Ben White and Gabriel Magalhaes were initially considered minor doubts for the match against Newcastle, but both participated in the game in the northeast.

Arsenal absentees: Tomiyasu, Tierney, Calafiori. Arsenal uncertainties: Odegaard.

Inter Milan injury update.

Inter faced an injury concern over the weekend when Alessandro Bastoni had to leave the field with 20 minutes left in their recent Serie A match.

However, Sempre Inter has reported that he was experiencing cramp and is expected to return for the match against Arsenal.

As previously noted, Çalhanoğlu is back, leaving the hosts with only one player unavailable.

Carlos Augusto is sidelined due to a hamstring issue and is not anticipated to return until after the international break.

Arsenal’s match against Inter is scheduled to kick off at 8 PM on Wednesday.

Inter absentees: Augusto. Inter uncertainties: None.
