Trent has agreed to a new contract and has rejected Real Madrid’s advances, as a decision regarding Salah has been made. – Liverpool upcoming update…

Trent Alexander-Arnold is poised to enhance the positive atmosphere at Liverpool under Arne Slot by potentially securing a long-term contract with the club this month.

Is this merely optimistic speculation? Possibly. However, reports indicate that Liverpool is actively pursuing contract extensions for their vice-captain, Virgil van Dijk, and Mo Salah as well.

While there have been mentions of a potential ‘impasse’ in negotiations, it is important to view this situation with a balanced perspective.

The club remains dedicated to retaining all three players in question.

This situation is further complicated by Real Madrid’s reported interest in the No.66.

Additionally, Trent’s decision to delay signing a new contract until he assesses Liverpool’s competitiveness under the new head coach, Arne Slot, may prolong the process.

Fortunately, the former Feyenoord manager is making a strong impression, with Liverpool currently sitting at the top of the Premier League table as they head into the international break.

Although analysts may point out the varying quality of their opponents in the 2024/25 season thus far, the caliber of play exhibited by the team at Anfield is undeniable. Trent Alexander-Arnold has been instrumental in this strong start to the season.

It is not entirely unrealistic to consider that the right-back could finalize a contract extension with Liverpool in October.

However, it is crucial to remember that the England international will be eligible to sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club starting January 1.

That date is approaching quickly—just 82 days away, to be exact. The urgency is palpable.

Liverpool’s ability to finalize matters in November (or, heaven forbid, December) should not be underestimated.

However, relegating this to a mere end-of-year formality is unlikely to serve the best interests of either the club or the player, and it may only strengthen Real Madrid’s position as the winter transfer window approaches.

At the very least, a January transfer for Trent to the Spanish capital seems improbable.

The situation regarding Mo Salah is relatively straightforward compared to that of Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The Egyptian forward will be 33 by the next summer transfer window, coinciding with the expiration of his current contract.

It is unlikely that Richard Hughes will extend a lavish contract similar to the one that broke the wage structure in 2022. A salary around £350,000 per week would represent the peak of Salah’s earnings at Anfield.

Whether another club, perhaps in Saudi Arabia or the MLS as recent reports suggest, would be willing to offer a substantial contract to lure Salah away remains uncertain.

From our perspective, the Egyptian King appears capable of maintaining a high level of performance in the Premier League for at least another season.

If Hughes and his team can ensure that the winger remains satisfied and dedicated to Arne Slot’s vision until 2026 or beyond, it would be a mutually beneficial arrangement for all parties involved.
