Alisson injury update as devastated Liverpool goalkeeper ‘may be sidelined for an extended period’.

Alisson’s injury status suggests that the distressed Liverpool goalkeeper could be unavailable for some time.

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson was compelled to leave the pitch during the 1-0 victory against Crystal Palace.

The club has received a significant injury setback, as Alisson Becker is expected to be unavailable “for an extended period” after he limped off during the match at Crystal Palace.

Under Arne Slot’s management, Liverpool secured a 1-0 win at Selhurst Park, thanks to Diogo Jota’s goal in the 9th minute, which has put them four points ahead at the top of the Premier League.

However, the victory was marred by another injury to their Brazilian goalkeeper.

With only 11 minutes remaining, Alisson fell to the ground, visibly holding his hamstring, and was subsequently substituted for Vítezslav Jaros.

Peter Crouch, speaking on TNT Sports, expressed his concerns for the 32-year-old. “You could see he realized immediately,” remarked the former Liverpool striker.

“When a player reacts like that right away, it indicates a serious issue. I’m genuinely worried for him. Alisson appears heartbroken in front of us. This is the one downside of today for Liverpool—losing Alisson. It could be a lengthy absence now.”

Following Crouch, manager Arne Slot commented on the situation, expressing confidence in Jaros as he made his debut for Liverpool.

“We have a lot of faith in him, and he was eager to play,” Slot stated. “He wanted to get back on the field. He won the league and cup last season in Austria with Sturm Graz, so we trust him greatly, and he was ready to step in.”

“I believe today demonstrated that we made the right decision in giving him an opportunity. It was a wonderful moment for him to come on and help secure the win.”

Slot also chose not to focus on Alisson’s potential absence, instead highlighting his team’s overall performance. “In the second half, we gave away several unnecessary free-kicks and throw-ins,” he noted.

In the final 10 minutes, we maintained possession effectively. Scoring a second goal can often help to undermine the opponent’s confidence, yet despite our dominance, we secured only a 1-0 victory.

Slot has achieved nine wins in his first 10 matches across all competitions, setting a record for a Liverpool manager. On the other hand, Palace remains winless in this season’s top-flight campaign.
