Gary Neville was left in awe, labeling the Arsenal star’s performance against Villa as “magical,” and he stated that the player outshone Trossard after a remarkable display of skill.

Describing the performance as “magical,” Gary Neville was thoroughly impressed by the Arsenal star in the match against Villa, asserting that he eclipsed Trossard following an astonishing moment of action.

Gary Neville expressed his astonishment at the performance of an Arsenal player during their match against Aston Villa, stating that he outperformed Trossard following an incredible display.

Arsenal secured a 2-0 victory at Villa Park today, with Leandro Trossard and Thomas Partey scoring in the second half to earn the Gunners three crucial points on the road.

Having started the 2024-25 Premier League season with a 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend, Arsenal showcased their strength against the Midlands team today, despite a somewhat rocky beginning.

Trossard, who came off the bench, netted the first goal for Arsenal in the 67th minute, followed by Partey extending their lead just ten minutes later.

However, it was a remarkable moment from David Raya just before the first goal that left Gary Neville in awe.

The Spanish goalkeeper executed a stunning double save in the 54th minute, deflecting a shot from Amadou Onana that had ricocheted off Gabriel Magalhaes and hit the crossbar.

Ollie Watkins was in position for the rebound, facing an open goal, but he directed his shot straight at Raya, who made an extraordinary save against all odds.

Neville remarked on Sky Sports, “How Raya reacts, wow. He comes from nowhere.” The header had an expected goal value of 0.55, leaving Villa in disbelief that the England international striker squandered such a clear opportunity.

The Arsenal goalkeeper made a remarkable save, prompting Neville to commend him following the match.

“The defining moment of the game was Raya’s save,” he remarked.

“Trossard had a significant influence, but this is something extraordinary. I can hardly believe he managed to get up – he launched himself into the back of the net.”

The outcome could have been different if Villa had scored, but Raya’s save proved crucial, allowing Arsenal to capitalize on their opportunities and send a strong message to their title competitors.

Last season, the Gunners suffered defeats both at home and away against Villa, and those six points lost ultimately had a significant impact, as Manchester City edged them out for the title by just two points.

Arsenal will be back in action next Saturday when they face Brighton & Hove Albion, eager to secure a third consecutive victory and continue building their momentum.
