‘This will be done’: Arsenal is set to finalize the signing of a £25 million player within the next few days, according to a journalist…
Arsenal will be signing a player worth £25 million in the next couple of days.
A journalist reports that Arsenal will complete the acquisition of a £25 million player shortly.
The signing of a £25 million player by Arsenal is expected to occur in the coming days, as stated by a journalist.
It is uncommon for Arsenal to complete a transfer without encountering some obstacles. The club often finds itself in the midst of drama.
Last summer, Manchester City attempted to disrupt the Declan Rice transfer, and this summer saw its own share of complications with Riccardo Calafiori’s potential move.
Currently, Mikel Merino is said to be the target for Arsenal, yet there are mixed reports regarding the status of this transfer.
Art De Roche mentioned earlier this week that Merino is not particularly close to joining the club.
De Roche expressed, “I believe it makes sense. Currently, it doesn’t appear to be as imminent as many reports suggest.”
He added, “From a stylistic perspective, having a midfielder positioned in midfield is beneficial.
When Havertz arrived last summer, there was speculation about him taking on the left eight role, but he did not deliver in that position.”
Contrarily, Steve Kay, speaking on KS1 TV, disagrees with this assessment.
The journalist noted that while some sources are downplaying the deal, his information indicates that Merino is set to join Arsenal in the coming days.
Mikel Merino’s transfer to Arsenal is expected to be finalized soon. According to Kay, there should be no complications in the process.
“I have received numerous messages from concerned fans about this transfer, with some claiming that various sources suggest the deal is not as advanced as it truly is.
“I am uncertain about the origin of that information, as my sources indicate that the transfer is nearly complete. Personal terms have been settled, with a fee of approximately €30 million (£25 million) agreed upon.
“Both clubs are in agreement, and Merino has expressed a desire not to sign with any other team. He is not considering a new contract with his current club.
“From what I gather, the situation is quite the opposite of what has been reported elsewhere, and I anticipate that this deal will be concluded within the next few days.”
Mikel Merino may feature in the match against Wolves. Should Arsenal finalize the signing of Merino within the next few days, he could potentially make his debut on the season’s opening day against Wolves.
Although the timeline is tight, having recently participated in Euro 2024 and with a week of preparation ahead, it is feasible for Merino to take the field, possibly as a substitute.
Indications suggest that this transfer will be completed shortly, allowing Arsenal to redirect their efforts towards enhancing their offensive capabilities.
