Arsenal have been given an update on the potential transfer of Gabriel Jesus, as they also reach a £50m agreement for Diaby.

Arsenal faces a significant decision regarding Gabriel Jesus’ future this summer.

The Brazilian forward had a tough second season at Emirates Stadium following a promising debut year after his £45 million move from Manchester City in 2022.

Despite his goal contributions, Jesus struggled with injuries, experiencing three separate setbacks in the past year.

While he showcased his talent with standout performances against Sevilla and Luton Town, he ultimately lost his starting position to Kai Havertz.

Injuries and tactical adjustments under Mikel Arteta led to Jesus being utilized as a false nine at times, with Havertz dropping deeper into midfield. However, he found himself out of Arteta’s preferred starting lineup towards the end of the season.

In light of this, there have been indications of potential exit links, with some suggesting that Arsenal have moved beyond him and Oleksandr Zinchenko in their plans.

Given that he still has three years left on his contract, the Gunners are likely to demand a substantial fee for his departure, which could be in the works.

As per X user @bt3, who has a following of over 750k, Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli are considering Jesus as a potential target for their striker position, along with Richarlison from Tottenham.

While it’s not certain that Jesus will be their top choice, an offer could materialize in the coming weeks.

Over the past year, players like Ruben Neves, Aleksandar Mitrovic, and Fabinho have all made lucrative moves from the Premier League to the Middle East, with Moussa Diaby now set to follow suit.

With Aston Villa facing financial constraints, a significant sale was necessary, along with the departure of Douglas Luiz.

The impending transfer of Amadou Onana from Everton in a £50 million deal has added urgency to secure a major exit, with Diaby poised to be the player sacrificed as he gets ready to join Al Ittihad in a €60 million (£50.5m) package deal.

Considering his achievements in the game, Arsenal may be able to ask for a comparable fee for Jesus if Al-Ahli express interest.

Nevertheless, after his outstanding performance in the pre-season friendly against Leyton Orient, Arteta might be inclined to retain him at the club.
