Report: Arsenal is now focused on signing an exceptional player from Wolves in a move that has caught many by surprise…

Arsenal is showing a keen interest in bringing in a top-performing Wolves player in a move that has raised eyebrows.

Arsenal is rumored to be considering a surprising move for Wolverhampton Wanderers star Daniel Bentley as one of their initial signings for the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Gunners currently boast David Raya and Aaron Ramsdale as top goalkeeper options, with Raya solidifying his position as the first-choice goalkeeper following his permanent transfer from Brentford.

However, reports suggest that Arsenal is eyeing Bentley as a potential addition to their goalkeeping lineup, alongside Riccardo Calafiori, in their quest to strengthen the squad and challenge for the Premier League title next season.

According to reports, Arsenal is making an attempt to secure the services of Daniel Bentley from Wolves. The intention is for Bentley to start as the third-choice goalkeeper, but there is a possibility for him to move up to second-choice if Ramsdale leaves the club.

Arsenal is looking to bring Bentley in as a backup for Raya, who recently signed a permanent deal after transferring from Brentford.

With Bentley not getting any first-team opportunities at Wolves due to Sa being the preferred choice, Gary O’Neil is keen on adding a new goalkeeper to the squad.

Wolves, on the other hand, are in need of cover for Sa and have shown interest in Kasper Schmeichel as a potential replacement.

Schmeichel, who is currently a free agent after his contract with Anderlecht expired, could be a viable option for Wolves. Bentley might be open to a move to the Emirates, especially if he is considered the third-choice goalkeeper.

With Ramsdale’s hefty price tag of £50 million deterring potential suitors, Bentley’s move to Arsenal could very well materialize.

Raya to Take Over Starting Position at Arsenal

Last summer, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta made a bold decision by bringing in Raya on loan from Brentford during the transfer window.

Ramsdale had been the starting goalkeeper for Arsenal for two seasons, helping the team secure fifth and second place finishes in consecutive years.

However, Raya’s arrival led to Ramsdale being benched despite Arsenal’s strong performance that season.

Although Raya has shown moments of brilliance for the Gunners, some costly errors in games raised questions about his position – particularly after a match against Chelsea in October and some shaky saves against Luton. In the end, a last-minute winner from Declan Rice saved the day.

If Ramsdale is not able to be transferred, Bentley could provide an additional homegrown choice for the team and a reliable goalkeeper.

Bentley, who previously played for Brentford, was praised as ‘outstanding’ when he replaced Sa towards the end of the previous season during Wolves’ defeat to Manchester United, where his performance limited the scoreline to a decent 2-0.

With more than 400 senior appearances in his career, Bentley possesses a wealth of experience despite his young age of 30.
