Report: Arsenal reverses decision on selling ‘outstanding’ player after discussions…
Arsenal has had a change of heart in discussions and will no longer be selling the ‘outstanding’ player.
Arsenal have reportedly changed their stance on selling a key player, opting for a compromise instead.
It seems that the club is now working towards securing an exit for a midfielder this summer.
Edu and his team are expected to be busy finding new clubs for multiple first-team members at Arsenal in the upcoming months.
Recent reports have indicated that Arsenal informed Oleksandr Zinchenko and Kieran Tierney that they are free to seek transfers this summer.
Additionally, Arsenal might be ready to let go of Thomas Partey, who has been linked with a move away due to having just one year left on his contract.
Aaron Ramsdale is rumored to be on the verge of leaving, as he is not satisfied with being a backup player.
And the same could be said for Eddie Nketiah, Emile Smith Rowe, and Reiss Nelson.
It would be a major blow for Arsenal to lose all three, particularly considering their status as homegrown players, but there is a real chance of major changes.
With that being said, Arsenal has made the decision to allow Albert Sambi Lokonga to depart from the club.
Lokonga has been in discussions with Sevilla about a potential loan move in recent days.
Diario de Sevilla has reported that Arsenal appears to have reached a compromise regarding their demands.
Arsenal is now open to loaning Albert Sambi Lokonga to Sevilla without the requirement of a purchase obligation. Initially, it was stated that Arsenal would only agree to a loan deal for Lokonga if it included a clause that obligated Sevilla to buy him.
After a successful loan spell at Luton Town, it seems like a suitable moment for Arsenal to capitalize on the midfielder.
Nevertheless, as per the aforementioned report, Arsenal has opted to deviate from their original intentions and is now content with accepting a loan deal without any obligations.
Arsenal has chosen to pursue a different strategy for Lokonga since Sevilla refused to accept the clause. It is believed that allowing Lokonga to enhance his value in La Liga is the best course of action.
Nevertheless, Arsenal’s decision may not be the most prudent one.
While Lokonga appears to have the skills to thrive in Spain, he will have only one year remaining on his contract after the season concludes.
This could potentially weaken Arsenal’s bargaining position and ability to secure a good deal for Lokonga, whom they are evidently prepared to offload.
It may be a challenging situation for Arsenal, but they must explore alternative options to maximize the value of players like Lokonga.
The club may face challenges in offloading Ramsdale this summer, despite his appeal to numerous potential buyers.
That said, Arsenal has reportedly made a £40m offer for a defender who is considered to be among the top players globally.
