Arsenal have reached out to top European clubs in pursuit of a deal to acquire a winger who has contributed to 25 goals and assists, as per reports.

The Gunners have initiated discussions with Paris Saint-Germain regarding the potential transfer of Xavi Simons, as reported by French outlet L’Equipe.

According to a report from French publication L’Equipe, Arsenal has reached out to Paris Saint-Germain regarding a potential transfer deal for Xavi Simons.

Simons, who recently returned to PSG from PSV Eindhoven, where a €6 million buy-back clause was activated, was subsequently loaned out to RB Leipzig.

During his time with the Bundesliga side, he impressed with a total of 10 goals and 15 assists across all competitions.

Nevertheless, the French champions have expressed their sole interest in a loan agreement as per the clause they have agreed upon with PSV.

If Simons were to leave PSG before January 2025, PSV would be entitled to a significant portion of the sell-on fee. This condition is the primary reason for PSG’s reluctance to permanently part ways with the player.

ARSENAL URGED TO PURSUE LOAN DEAL FOR SIMONS

PSG is hesitant to release Simons permanently because of the agreement with PSV. A temporary departure seems to be the most viable option for the player, and we believe Arsenal should make a bold move to secure his signature over other interested parties.

Considering the circumstances, it seems that a loan move is the only viable option for the attacker.

In our professional opinion, Arsenal should take a bold approach and make an ambitious attempt to secure his signature before other potential suitors.

Arsenal is among the primary clubs that have expressed interest in securing a permanent move for Simons from Les Parisiens.

Arsenal currently have Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard vying for spots on the left wing, however, the situation is different on the right side.

Bukayo Saka had an impressive season with 40 goal contributions, but there were instances where he appeared fatigued. Arsenal required a game-changer coming off the bench.

Simons emerges as a strong contender to add competition. The 21-year-old managed 10 goal involvements in just 18 appearances from the right wing last season.

He also averaged 2.6 successful take-ons, 6.3 duels won per game, and 5.2 recoveries. While he would be a valuable addition, it remains to be seen if he can be persuaded to make the move.

Simons might be seeking a guaranteed starting position during the early stages of his career development.

This potential requirement could pose a challenge for the Gunners in securing him on loan for the upcoming summer transfer window.
