Arsenal considering £65m Premier League striker after Victor Osimhen determination.

In their pursuit of strengthening the squad, Arsenal have set their sights on Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke for a potential summer transfer.

Despite the impressive performances of Kai Havertz in the number nine position towards the end of last season, the Gunners have identified the forward line as an area that requires reinforcement.

While there were previous reports linking Arsenal to Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, it appears that the club has decided against pursuing the player due to his hefty €130m (£110.6m) release clause.

The Gunners, having decided to abandon their pursuit of Osimhen, are now diligently searching the market for other potential targets.

RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko is being considered as a potential option by Arsenal, however, other clubs such as Chelsea, Manchester United, and Newcastle United are also vying for the Slovenian’s signature.

Although Sesko is considered one of Arsenal’s primary targets, the Daily Express has reported that the Gunners are also expressing interest in Bournemouth’s Solanke.

It is unlikely that Arsenal will have exclusive pursuit of Solanke, as their North London rivals, Tottenham Hotspur, are believed to be among the clubs interested in the player.

According to a report by The Athletic, it has been revealed that the striker’s Bournemouth contract includes a release clause of £65m that can only be activated by specific clubs.

The clubs that are eligible to trigger the player’s release clause this summer remain uncertain at this time.

Bournemouth is determined to hold on to Solanke

Despite the interest surrounding Solanke, Bournemouth is eager to keep one of their key players within their ranks.

Solanke impressively scored 19 goals in 38 Premier League matches last season, making him Bournemouth’s top scorer in a single campaign.

Since transferring from Liverpool to Bournemouth in 2019, Solanke has accumulated a total of 77 goals and 31 assists in 216 matches.

The 26-year-old player secured a joint-fourth place finish in the Premier League scoring rankings, trailing behind Erling Haaland, Cole Palmer, and Alexander Isak.
