Liverpool News
Liverpool is currently in a battle with Bayern Munich to secure the signing of a versatile playmaker…
Liverpool and Bayern Munich are both chasing after a playmaker who can play multiple positions.
Despite previous links to Assan Ouédraogo of Schalke, it seems unlikely that the teenager will be joining Liverpool, as a transfer to Bayern Munich is now on the horizon.
As the summer approaches, Liverpool is expected to make several additions to their squad. Despite a successful season, which saw them win the Carabao Cup and compete for the championship until the very end, they ultimately finished third in the Premier League.
Therefore, it is crucial for them to make strategic acquisitions to strengthen their roster for the upcoming campaign.
With the arrival of new manager Arne Slot, it is anticipated that Liverpool will aim to make one or two signings to ensure a strong start in the 2024-2025 season.
However, the team only requires minor adjustments to reinforce key areas and provide healthy competition for the players already in the starting lineup.
Richard Hughes, the newly appointed sporting director, may consider recruiting players who may not be ready for the starting lineup but have the potential to compete for a spot in the coming years.
This approach is commonly adopted by several top European clubs, including Liverpool, who loaned Harvey Elliott to Blackburn before integrating him into the starting lineup.
Elliott has since blossomed into one of Liverpool’s finest players. However, it seems that this pattern may not hold true for one of the most promising young talents in Europe.
Assan Ouédraogo, currently playing for Schalke, has been linked with a potential move to Liverpool early in the season. The talented German midfielder has made a significant impact in the Bundesliga 2, featuring in 17 matches and scoring three goals.
Despite facing injury setbacks that caused him to miss a substantial part of the season, Ouédraogo is undoubtedly a player with immense potential for the future.
According to Fabrizio Romano in October 2023, there have been reports of Liverpool’s interest in the Schalke youngster, Assan Ouédraogo.
However, it is worth noting that Bayern Munich and AC Milan also hold a keen interest in him. These three clubs are vying for the opportunity to sign Ouédraogo, recognizing his talent and potential.
In the latest update, it seems that Ouédraogo is unlikely to join Milan or Liverpool, with reports suggesting that a move to Bayern is on the cards.
Romano has indicated that negotiations are progressing well and there is a possibility that Bayern might loan the player back to Schalke for the upcoming Bundesliga 2 season.
Schalke finished in tenth place in the German second division in the 2023-2024 season. At just 18 years old, Ouédraogo has the potential to further develop and enhance his skills with another season of play.
Given his young age, it makes sense for Ouédraogo to continue his development in Germany, as highlighted by Liverpool.com.
Staying in Germany will likely benefit his growth as a player. It is interesting to note that both Liverpool and Bayern are considering loan moves for him to gain valuable experience. It will be exciting to see how he progresses in the coming years.
