Arsenal has the chance to sign a highly economical alternative striker for just £55m, rendering Newcastle’s Alexander Isak insignificant in their pursuit.

Arsenal is expected to look for a striker this summer.

Arsenal, being in need of a striker this summer, will have to explore other options due to the exorbitant price tag placed on Alexander Isak by Newcastle United.

The demand of £200 million for Isak has surely put a dent in Arsenal’s plans, especially considering their interest in the Swedish player. However, Mikel Arteta and the transfer team will now have to shift their focus towards finding a more affordable alternative.

It is an effective method to discourage rival Premier League teams from poaching one of your most influential and indispensable talents.

According to reports, Newcastle United will demand a hefty sum of around £200 million before even considering the sale of striker Alexander Isak this summer. It’s as if they have permanently etched the words ‘Hands Off!’ on his forehead.

The news of Isak’s exorbitant price tag will undoubtedly disappoint Arsenal, as there have been widespread suggestions that the Gunners have been closely monitoring the Swedish player for quite some time now.

While Mikel Arteta’s radar includes other potential targets, Isak may turn out to be the most expensive option. Consequently, one can assume that the Spanish manager and his transfer team will now actively search for more affordable alternatives elsewhere.

Arsenal should consider keeping a close watch on Benjamin Sesko, a Slovenian striker who has been performing exceptionally well this season.

Sesko has scored 14 goals in 31 Bundesliga matches for RB Leipzig and is establishing himself as one of the most promising young attacking players in European football. He could be signed for approximately £55 million this summer, making him a much more affordable option compared to Isak.

Sesko, at the age of 20, represents a blend of immense potential and already polished skills. Transitioning from Red Bull Salzburg to Leipzig, the tall and physically strong center forward has made a strong impression in his first season in Germany.

Often likened to Erling Haaland of Manchester City, Sesko shares similar qualities such as speed, aerial dominance, technical prowess with both feet, and a natural ability to score goals.

The forward does not shy away from acknowledging the similarities either. When discussing Haaland in the past, he expressed, “I find such comparisons to be motivating and energizing.

They don’t impose any pressure on me. Instead, I embrace them as an opportunity to listen, learn, and strive to surpass his abilities.

My fellow teammates at the club often highlight the striking resemblance between Haaland and me, particularly in terms of speed. In fact, many of them go as far as to claim that I excel even more than him!”

The previous statement may be a bit exaggerated, but it is undeniable that the emerging talent possesses the potential and credentials to become an exceptional player, even if he falls short of Haaland’s brilliance (which is a tall order for anyone).

In addition to his impressive performances at the club level, he has already scored 11 goals in 28 appearances for the senior national team. The prevailing sentiment on the continent is that he will secure a high-profile transfer sooner rather than later.

Considering Arsenal’s evident need for a striker and Sesko’s reasonable price tag, it would be wise for them to actively pursue him as their next signing this summer.

At the very least, it would be a better option than spending £200 million on Alexander Isak.
