Liverpool has been informed about a generous price cut for the signing of a French midfielder, one year after their initial interest

Liverpool has been informed of a significant discount to acquire French midfielder Khephren Thuram.

Liverpool have been presented with a significant discount to secure the services of French midfielder Khephren Thuram.

Khephren Thuram, the talented midfielder from OGC Nice, is now being offered at a significantly reduced price following Liverpool’s previous interest in him.

Khephren Thuram, the 23-year-old midfielder from OGC Nice, is now being offered at a significantly reduced price following Liverpool’s previous interest in him. Last summer, there were strong rumors circulating in Merseyside about Liverpool’s potential pursuit of both Khephren Thuram and Manu Kone.

Last summer, the Merseyside rumour mill was abuzz with two prominent names: Khephren Thuram and Manu Kone. These French midfielders were highly regarded as the perfect additions to Jurgen Klopp’s engine room rejuvenation.

However, despite the anticipation, neither Thuram nor Kone made their way to Anfield. Instead, Liverpool opted to sign Wataru Endo, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Alexis Mac Allister, as their attempts to secure Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia proved unsuccessful.

While Thuram chose to stay at Nice, Kone, who faced a significant period of inactivity during the transfer window, continued to ply his trade for Borussia Monchengladbach.

Thiago’s departure from Liverpool may prompt the club to consider acquiring a new midfielder during the upcoming summer transfer window. However, it remains uncertain who they will target for this position.

Interestingly, according to the French website Nice-Matin, there are reports that Thuram could be sold by Nice for a fee ranging between €15 million (£12.9 million) and €20 million (£17.2 million) with one year left on his contract.

Although Thuram finished the season strongly, it has been revealed that his performance has not met expectations throughout the season, leading to some negative reactions from supporters.

In addition to his 27 appearances for Nice this season, Thuram has also represented the France U23s in two friendly matches in March. He primarily played as a No. 8 position for his club.

It is highly probable that his involvement in the Olympics at the end of July would complicate any potential move to a new team.

Considering that Liverpool had previous communication with the player’s representatives last summer, it seems unlikely that they would even consider pursuing a transfer for the 23-year-old.

However, Ibrahima Konate has expressed his desire to play alongside his “little brother” at Anfield on multiple occasions. If there is a need for another midfielder, the possibility of the deal being reconsidered arises.

According to the Nice-Matin article, Jean-Clair Todibo, who is Thuram’s teammate, has been linked to Liverpool and is expected to leave Nice during the summer.

Given that Joel Matip is likely to depart on a free transfer, one could argue that the center-back position becomes a higher priority for Liverpool in the upcoming summer transfer window.
