Liverpool’s lineup against Aston Villa is expected to see Diogo Jota as a major doubt, as Jurgen Klopp prepares for his last away game with the Reds.

Diogo Jota’s availability remains uncertain as Jurgen Klopp prepares for Liverpool’s last away match.

Liverpool have experienced a significant improvement in their injury situation leading up to Jurgen Klopp’s second-to-last Premier League game in charge against Aston Villa tonight.

After defeating Tottenham 4-2 at Anfield in their previous match, the Reds will now visit Villa Park this evening with the aim of finishing their legendary departing manager’s final season on a high note before facing Wolves on the last day.

Although their hopes of winning the Premier League title have faded in recent weeks, ensuring Klopp receives a fitting farewell following a successful tenure on Merseyside is Liverpool’s primary objective for the remaining two matches of the season.

A strong squad will be sent to face fourth-place Villa, with the return of Stefan Bajcetic from injury and the clearance of captain Virgil van Dijk after passing a fitness test.

Diogo Jota’s absence from team training due to a hip problem raises doubts about his availability, while concerns about Andy Robertson’s missed session remain unaddressed.

Klopp did not provide any updates on these players before tonight’s game. Apart from them, Joel Matip, Thiago Alcantara, Bobby Clark, and Ben Doak are the only confirmed injury absences for Liverpool.

In his pre-match press conference, Klopp commended defender Jarell Quansah, hinting at a possible start alongside Van Dijk at Villa Park.

“We adhere to a specific formation and do not experiment with three centre-halves or any other variations. Therefore, we are required to make a decision based on the circumstances.

Jarell has been performing exceptionally well in training sessions, which is why he has been chosen. It is not to say that Ibou or Joey did not train well, but Jarell’s performance stood out. This is the ideal situation for me as a manager, as I can simply observe and analyze the situation.”
