Leandro Trossard has responded to Roy Keane’s criticism of Arsenal’s win against Manchester United, refuting claims of luck in their victory.

Trossard’s goal secured the win for the Gunners, despite United having more possession and shots during the match.

Arsenal’s ability to maintain their lead and secure the three points was not a stroke of luck, according to Trossard, who defended his team’s performance against the Red Devils.

Roy Keane played down Arsenal’s performance in their victory over Manchester United, suggesting that Leandro Trossard’s goal was the only reason they secured all three points.

In response, Trossard has refuted Keane’s claims, stating that Arsenal were not fortunate in their win at Old Trafford. Despite United having more possession and shots, Trossard’s goal proved decisive, allowing the Gunners to reclaim the top spot in the Premier League.

While Arsenal effectively kept United at bay, Keane argued that their victory was merely a result of facing a weak Red Devils team.

“Facing that team today, I’m sure Arsenal couldn’t believe how poor United’s performance was. Considering the amount of possession they had, the lack of quality was evident. We often talk about the great teams and players from the past, but that last half-hour was truly disappointing.”

Trossard emphasized that luck was not the determining factor in Arsenal’s victory. He commended his teammates for their strong defensive performance, which ultimately led to securing the three points.

“It may not have been the most attractive game, but I have to give credit to the guys for their solid defensive display. Keeping another clean sheet and scoring one goal was sufficient to secure the win. We faced some challenges, so it was really satisfying to come out on top,” he stated in an interview with BBC Sport.

“Maintaining a 1-0 lead is always precarious. We were pushing for a second goal, but we had to be cautious of their counterattacks. Our current winning streak is impressive, and we will carry this momentum into the final match. Anything can happen in football.”

He mentioned to Sky Sports: “Manchester United remains a strong team and they have various ways to pose a threat, so credit to the players – our defense was solid. Our sole goal is to clinch the league title.

“We executed our game plan today, and it will all come down to the final match, which is our target. With any luck, we might have something to celebrate next week. It’s all up in the air. We’ve done our part, and that’s all we could do.”
