Arsenal is exploring the possibility of securing a Brazilian duo as an alternative to Martin Zubimendi, casting doubt on his potential transfer. With uncertainties surrounding the futures of Jorginho, Elneny, and Partey, the club is actively considering potential replacements.

Arsenal is considering the possibility of signing Brazilian duo Douglas Luiz and Bruno Guimaraes as they have concerns about their top target, Martin Zubimendi, being reluctant to leave Real Sociedad this summer.

Mikel Arteta, the Arsenal manager, is looking to strengthen his midfield and has identified Jorginho, Mohamed Elneny, and Thomas Partey as potential departures. In light of this, Arsenal may shift their focus to Guimaraes and Luiz, as landing Zubimendi appears to be challenging.

The Evening Standard reports that Arsenal has been monitoring Zubimendi for some time, but the player has shown hesitancy in leaving his childhood club, despite interest from Bayern Munich and Barcelona.

If a move for Zubimendi proves difficult, Arteta’s team could turn their attention to Guimaraes from Newcastle United and Luiz from Aston Villa. However, both clubs are currently reluctant to sell unless a substantial offer is made.

Arsenal is considering potential replacements as Jorginho, Elneny, and Partey’s futures remain uncertain.

According to the Evening Standard, Zubimendi is a top target for Arteta due to his long-standing interest in the Spanish midfielder. With a £51m release clause, Zubimendi could be a viable option for the club.

However, there are concerns that he may be hesitant to leave his current team, Real Sociedad. Previously linked with a move to Bayern Munich under Xabi Alonso’s potential leadership, Zubimendi’s plans may change now that Alonso has decided to stay at Leverkusen.

According to the Evening Standard, Arsenal is considering Douglas Luiz and Bruno Guimaraes as potential alternatives to their main target, amid growing concerns.

Newcastle, on the other hand, might be forced to sell Guimaraes in order to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations and avoid breaching Premier League Player Salary Rules. Guimaraes has an active release clause of £100m until mid-June, so Arsenal would need to act swiftly if they wish to secure a deal.

While Luiz has been a long-standing target for Arsenal, a potential move for the Brazilian midfielder could face obstacles due to Aston Villa’s resurgence and their potential qualification for the Champions League next season.

If Zubimendi rejects the opportunity to join Arsenal, Guimaraes could be the most feasible option due to his release clause. However, his price would be twice that of Zubimendi, which could impact Arteta’s plans to strengthen other areas of the squad.

It will be intriguing to witness the progression of events in the upcoming months as Arsenal strives to construct a team that can effectively compete in all aspects of the game in the following season.
