Jurgen Klopp is now turning his attention to the Premier League following Liverpool’s Europa League elimination.

The manager expressed his determination to give his all in the domestic competition after the disappointing exit from Europe.

Jurgen Klopp, in the wake of Liverpool’s elimination from the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals by Atalanta, displayed great sportsmanship and gracefully accepted defeat.

This match marked his final European encounter as the manager of The Reds, as they were defeated 3-1 on aggregate. Despite Mohamed Salah’s early penalty raising hopes of a remarkable comeback, it was Atalanta, the Serie A side, who advanced to the semi-finals.

Klopp, however, swiftly redirected his team’s attention towards the Premier League following their exit from the Europa League. In the second leg, Liverpool secured a 1-0 victory through Salah’s penalty, but it was insufficient to overturn the 3-0 deficit from the first leg at Anfield.

With the possibility of clinching a record-equalling 20th league title still within reach, Klopp emphasized the positives of an improved performance against the Italian team as they prepare for their upcoming match against Fulham on Sunday.

Expressing his disappointment, Klopp stated, “I feel really, really rubbish.” However, he also highlighted the team’s desired reaction by winning the game. He acknowledged the difficulty of the match against Atalanta and accepted their deserved progression in the competition. Now, the team can shift their focus entirely to the league.

Klopp admitted to having mixed emotions, being disappointed about their elimination from the competition but also satisfied with significant aspects of the game. He acknowledged that they had to move on from this competition and expressed their desire to have reached Dublin.

However, with only one competition remaining, they are determined to give their all and put everything they have into it.

Klopp provided a more detailed reflection on Thursday’s match, emphasizing his players’ unwavering desire to overturn the tie. “The results indicate that we didn’t lose tonight; we lost at home,” he stated. “Despite facing a significant hurdle, I was impressed by the commitment, power, and desire displayed by the boys throughout the game.

Klopp also highlighted Trent Alexander-Arnold’s exceptional performance, noting that his fitness level impacted the team’s ability to maintain structure and create chances. Looking ahead, Klopp acknowledged the upcoming challenge against Fulham and emphasized the importance of recovery.

“We are back to winning ways, and we must ensure we are ready for the next game,” he concluded.
