Arsenal are on the verge of securing a top-tier striker for the upcoming season, according to the latest update from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The Gunners’ manager Mikel Arteta and sporting director Edu have their sights set on a new forward for the 2024/2025 campaign.

Despite previous links to players like Ivan Toney, Victor Osimhen, and Viktor Gyokeres, Arsenal seems determined to bolster their attacking options with a marquee signing.

With an impressive goal-scoring record in recent matches, Arsenal is looking to maintain their form and challenge for the Premier League title after two decades.

However, despite their attacking prowess, Arsenal have received advice to acquire a prominent center-forward during the upcoming summer transfer window.

“Perhaps the absence of that one player is noticeable when Saka and Martinelli are not on the field,” recently stated ESPN pundit Janusz Michallik.

“That central forward, considering the number of goals they score, one could argue is unnecessary. However, in my opinion, Dusan Vlahovic would be a better fit for the team compared to Ivan Toney and Osimhen. Some factors to consider are finances and age. Nevertheless, I am impressed with what I see. A left-footed player who would seamlessly integrate into the team.”

It is understandable if you believe that the club’s transfer plans may have shifted, given the ruthless nature of Arteta’s men in front of goal. However, as explained by Romano, the arrival of a new number nine is definitely something to keep an eye on at the Emirates Stadium this year.

According to Fabrizio Romano’s recent Dailybriefing, Arsenal is poised to secure the signing of a significant striker during the upcoming summer transfer window. Romano specifically mentioned Viktor Gyokeres as one of the names on Arsenal’s radar.

The club has been closely monitoring the Sporting Lisbon striker’s performance throughout this impressive season.

However, Arsenal is not the only club interested in Gyokeres. While Arsenal appreciates his talent, they still need to make a decision. It’s worth noting that Gyokeres has a release clause of €100m, and Sporting Lisbon is adamant about receiving a fee close to that amount, rather than the lower figures of €50m or €60m reported by some media outlets.

The situation with Arsenal remains uncertain, as they may have other options in mind.

Therefore, the final decision is not expected to be made immediately. Additionally, with Brentford’s manager Thomas Frank confirming the likely departure of Toney, he could also be a player to keep an eye on.

Arsenal will undoubtedly prioritize bringing in a striker who is not only cost-effective but also a significant improvement over their current options. This development promises to be an intriguing storyline to follow throughout the summer transfer window.
