According to a reliable source from Ultimate Arsenal, it has been disclosed that Arteta has identified his top two targets. It is further claimed that agreements have already been reached for both players to join the Gunners during the upcoming summer transfer window.

According to a reliable source from Ultimate Arsenal, it has been revealed that Mikel Arteta has identified Martin Zubimendi and Viktor Gyokeres as his top targets for the upcoming summer transfer window. It has been reported that agreements have already been made for both players to join the Gunners.

While Zubimendi has been on Arsenal’s radar since last year, Gyokeres is also highly regarded at the Emirates Stadium. Therefore, the situation remains open and it is uncertain which player will ultimately join the club.

Mikel Arteta is personally involved in the pursuit of these two players and has already had private conversations with them regarding a potential move to North London.

Ornstein was questioned about whether Arsenal will increase their interest in Everton midfielder Amadou Onana, who is valued at £80 million. However, it appears that the Belgian may be heading to a different destination during the summer.

The reporter further commented, “While there may be some admiration for Onana at Arsenal and other clubs, I am uncertain if he fits their desired profile or price range.”

“In terms of the defensive midfield position, Arteta seems to favor Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad (among others). If they opt for a central midfielder, there will be numerous alternatives as well. Personally, I don’t foresee this particular transfer materializing.”

According to reliable journalist David Ornstein, Arsenal is expected to make a move for either Viktor Gyokeres or a centre-forward from the German Bundesliga during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Currently, Mikel Arteta’s preferred choice for the striker position is Gabriel Jesus, who was acquired from Manchester City in July 2022. Throughout this season, Jesus has contributed eight goals and five assists in 26 appearances across various competitions.

However, it appears that Arsenal is looking to bring in a top-quality number 9 to potentially replace Jesus. Arteta has emphasized the need for an exceptional striker who can rival Erling Haaland of Manchester City and elevate the team to the next level.

In addition to his inconsistent goal-scoring record, Jesus has also been plagued by multiple injuries this season, which has hindered his availability on the pitch.

The primary striker Arsenal has been linked with in recent months is Ivan Toney from Brentford. However, it appears that the Gunners are now exploring other options instead of focusing solely on the Englishman.

According to Ornstein, RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko and Sporting CP’s Gyokeres are now being considered by Arteta as potential attacking options. On the other hand, Victor Osimhen from Napoli and Toney are unlikely to join Arsenal this summer.

During his recent Q&A for The Athletic, Ornstein discussed Arsenal’s search for a striker. He mentioned that like most clubs, there are different preferences internally, and Arsenal will need to reach a consensus before making a decision. Ornstein also highlighted that the process is still ongoing and it is normal for discussions to continue at this stage.

David Ornstein provides an update on Arsenal’s search for a striker.

Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres have been widely admired, as has Evan Ferguson. However, the price Brighton would demand and Ferguson’s performance this season may make a transfer less likely at this time.

It is unlikely to be a Victor Osimhen or Ivan Toney transfer. Other options are being considered as well. Alexander Isak has been mentioned, with Arsenal showing interest in the past, but I do not have any current information on that.

It is important to remember that Arsenal also need to address other positions, such as a midfielder, backup for wide attackers, possibly a left-back, and a replacement goalkeeper if Aaron Ramsdale departs.

The club’s transfer decisions will be heavily influenced by financial considerations. The amount raised through player sales will play a significant role in determining their transfer budget. While it may not be a strict ‘sell before buy’ situation, like many clubs, Arsenal will need to balance their books.
