Jurgen Klopp may opt for four alterations in the upcoming crucial Liverpool clash, as two players make their return from injury.

Liverpool kicked off their Premier League title run-in with a remarkable comeback against Brighton on Sunday. Despite conceding an early goal from Danny Welbeck, the Reds managed to equalize through Luis Diaz before half-time. Ultimately, Mohamed Salah’s 22nd goal of the season secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory.

As Liverpool continue their pursuit of the title, their next challenge awaits against bottom-placed Sheffield United on Thursday. With this in mind, let’s explore the potential changes that Jurgen Klopp might implement for their next match.

Klopp will be expected to make changes with three games in eight days. Despite the potential for rotation, one position that will remain unchanged is in goal, with Caoimhin Kelleher continuing to replace the injured Alisson Becker.

Additionally, Conor Bradley may continue at right-back in the absence of Trent Alexander-Arnold, but there is a possibility for Joe Gomez to shift to the other side of the defense.

This is due to the likely return of Andy Robertson, who will compete with Kostas Tsimikas for the left-back position. In terms of center-backs, Jarell Quansah has started the last five games alongside Virgil van Dijk, but Ibrahima Konate is now available to challenge for a spot.

Another option is the versatile Gomez. Unfortunately, Joel Matip is expected to be out for the season.

Although it would be unexpected for Curtis Jones to immediately join the starting line-up, Jurgen Klopp is confident that the midfielder will be available after being sidelined for over six weeks. This is a significant boost for Liverpool as they approach the final stages of the season.

On the left side of midfield, Alexis Mac Allister has been exceptional, but Liverpool will be cautious of managing his playing time. Ryan Gravenberch, who made his comeback on Sunday, is another option for that position and could potentially challenge Dominik Szoboszlai for the spot on the right.

However, Harvey Elliott seems to be the more probable alternative, especially considering Szoboszlai is still working towards full fitness following his injury.

Wataru Endo remains the preferred choice as the defensive midfielder and is unlikely to be replaced by Mac Allister, who is the only other senior option in that position.

Youngsters Bobby Clark and James McConnell were once again on the bench during the Brighton match. Additionally, Stefan Bajcetic is nearing a return to first-team training, but Thiago Alcantara may not feature again this season.

Salah made his second Premier League start of the year over the weekend, operating on the right flank. Luis Diaz’s strong performance on the left may lead to Darwin Nunez, who has been dealing with a hamstring problem, being replaced by Cody Gakpo in the central attack. Elliott is versatile enough to play on either wing.

Diogo Jota and Ben Doak are still unavailable, and young forward Jayden Danns was on the bench during Sunday’s match.
