Liverpool has decided to extend an invitation to a “perfect” manager for an interview, following their decision to withdraw their interest in Xabi Alonso. A report suggests that the club is actively seeking a suitable candidate to fill the managerial position.

Liverpool will now be looking to bring in a different manager for an interview, as they have decided to drop their interest in Xabi Alonso.

The club had initially shown interest in the Spaniard as a potential successor to Jurgen Klopp, but recent reports indicate that they will be moving on from pursuing Alonso due to his desire to remain at Bayer Leverkusen.

Liverpool is currently in search of a new manager to take over from Jurgen Klopp in the summer. Various names have been mentioned in connection with the position.

One particular manager, whose team is leading their league, is emerging as a top contender to succeed Klopp at Anfield. Liverpool is considering inviting a foreign manager for an interview, with Xabi Alonso being a potentially intriguing choice.

Klopp’s reputation as one of the top managers in the world makes finding a suitable replacement a challenging task for Liverpool, emphasizing the importance of making a careful selection.

Alonso’s association with Liverpool would have garnered unwavering support from the fans, even during challenging periods. However, it appears that he will not be joining the Merseyside club this summer.

Consequently, Liverpool is exploring other options, and according to The Daily Mail, Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim has emerged as the frontrunner for the Liverpool job.

The report suggests that Roberto De Zerbi from Brighton is also being considered, alongside the Portuguese manager.

Furthermore, it has been disclosed that Amorim, whose Sporting Lisbon team currently leads the Portuguese League, is scheduled for an interview after performing impressively in Liverpool’s data assessments.

Despite being just 39 years old, Amorim is under contract with Sporting until the summer of 2026. However, Fabrizio Romano has revealed that he possesses a release clause worth £26 million, which could potentially make him available for Liverpool.
