The club has identified Xabi Alonso as their top choice to replace Klopp at Anfield, and recent reports suggest that Liverpool is prepared to negotiate the terms of a contract with the Spanish coach.
TEAMtalk reveals that the Reds have extended a three-year offer to secure the services of the current Bayer Leverkusen coach.
Furthermore, it has been stated that with Michael Edwards being re-appointed as the CEO of Football, the Reds are appearing to be leading the way in the competition to attract Alonso.
Edwards is expected to bring Richard Hughes on board as the sporting director, who already has a strong connection with the representative of the Anfield legend, Inaki Ibanez.
