Liverpool XI vs Brentford : Confirm lineup team news, injury latest …
Mohamed Salah is poised to make his comeback for Liverpool today as they prepare to face Brentford in the lunchtime kick-off.
The 31-year-old has been sidelined for the past month due to a hamstring injury sustained while representing Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations. However, he is now edging closer to a return.
Salah returned to training earlier this week, marking his first session back with the team. Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool’s manager, confirmed on Friday that the forward is on track to feature in the squad this weekend. This presents an opportunity for the Reds to potentially extend their lead at the top of the Premier League by five points.
“Mo is fully back in training, which automatically puts him in contention,” Klopp informed reporters on Friday.

This presents an opportunity for the Reds to potentially extend their lead at the top of the Premier League. Klopp stated, “Mo is back in full training, which automatically puts him in contention.”
However, it is unlikely that Salah will immediately return to the starting lineup. Klopp is more inclined to maintain faith in the front three of Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz, and Darwin Nunez.
Salah may receive playing time as a substitute to gradually regain his fitness before the Carabao Cup final next weekend. Unfortunately, Liverpool will be without Trent Alexander-Arnold, who will be sidelined for several weeks due to a knee injury.
Conor Bradley, who showcased his impressive skills while Alexander-Arnold was absent last month, is anticipated to join the team as the right-back. He has recently returned to the club following a compassionate leave period after the passing of his father.
Ibrahima Konate, who was previously suspended, is now available again and is expected to partner with Virgil van Dijk in the defense.
Although Alisson Becker was set to make a comeback after missing the victory against Burnley due to illness, he will unfortunately be sidelined for a potentially extended period of time due to a reported hamstring injury.
Unfortunately, Dominik Szoboszlai will not be able to participate in the match as he continues to recover from a hamstring issue. Additionally, Thiago Alcantara is also out of the game due to a muscle injury.
Dominik Szoboszlai will unfortunately not be able to participate in the upcoming match due to his ongoing hamstring issue.
Additionally, Thiago Alcantara will also be absent from the game due to a muscle injury. As for the predicted Liverpool XI, we can expect to see Kelleher in goal, with Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, and Robertson forming the defensive line.
In midfield, we may see Endo, Mac Allister, and Jones, while Diaz, Nunez, and Jota are likely to lead the attack. It’s important to note that there are several other players who are currently injured, including Alexander-Arnold, Bajcetic, Matip, and Doak.
The match is scheduled to take place at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 12:30pm.
