Fulham vs Arsenal and Tottenham vs Chelsea postponement update.

Currently, Storm Darragh is impacting the UK, leading to the postponement of one Premier League match.

On Saturday morning, it was announced that the Merseyside Derby between Everton and Liverpool would not take place. This highly anticipated fixture, a highlight of the football calendar, has been affected by adverse weather conditions.

Earlier in the week, there were alerts regarding a 57-hour snow blizzard expected to hit the UK; however, it is Storm Darragh that has led to the postponement of the Merseyside Derby.

The Premier League issued a statement indicating: “The postponement is due to severe weather conditions and high winds from Storm Darragh.

Overnight winds have caused significant travel disruptions in and around Merseyside.”

After a Safety Advisory Group meeting at Goodison Park, which included officials from both clubs, Merseyside Police, and Liverpool City Council, it was determined that the match should be postponed for safety reasons, given the amber severe wind warning in effect until 06:00 GMT on Sunday.

The only other Premier League match scheduled in the northern region today is at Old Trafford, where Manchester United will face Nottingham Forest at 5:30 PM.

As for the London clubs, all three—Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham—are set to play on Sunday. Arsenal will travel to Fulham, while Spurs will host Chelsea at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The storm is expected to have passed by then and is not anticipated to impact the South as severely as the North, so both matches are likely to proceed as scheduled.

Brentford and Crystal Palace are also playing at home on Saturday against Newcastle and Manchester City, respectively.

A yellow weather warning for wind is in effect, with gusts expected to reach 40 to 50 mph.

Arsenal has the opportunity to reduce the deficit to Liverpool at the top of the standings to four points by securing a victory against Fulham.

Similarly, Chelsea can achieve the same with a win over Spurs.
